How to Choose the Right Shapewear Size
The right shapewear disappears under your outfit and stays put all day. The wrong size digs in, rolls down, or does nothing at all. Getting your size right is the single biggest factor in comfort — here's how to nail it.
Measure your waist and hips
Use a soft measuring tape. For your waist, measure around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the belly button. For hips, measure around the fullest part, keeping the tape level.
Note both numbers and match them to the size chart on the product page. If your two measurements fall in different sizes, go by your hips for briefs and bodysuits, and by your waist for waist trainers and shorts.
Between two sizes? Here's the rule
Size up for all-day comfort and lighter smoothing. Size down for firmer control on special occasions — but never so tight that it rolls or pinches.
Shapewear should feel snug, not painful. If it leaves deep marks or restricts breathing, it's too small. If it slides or wrinkles, it's too big.
Stop roll-down and dig-in
Roll-down almost always means the piece is too small or sits too low. A high-waist style with a silicone grip band stays in place far better than a low-rise one.
Dig-in at the thighs or waistband is a sizing issue too — bonded, laser-cut edges spread pressure evenly and won't cut in the way stitched elastic does.
